Pay Range: $51,840-$66,330
SUMMARY
The Plant Operator is responsible for all operations on site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Focus on proactive ways to achieve HSE goals for reducing injuries, near misses, and permit deviations. Leads by example. Creates an environment that engages all employees to seek out and minimize risks to enhance a safer work environment.
- Establishes and ensures operations maintain housekeeping standards.
- Perform thorough investigations into all incidents (safety and environmental) that occur in Operations. Follow up on action items to completion with team.
- Provide safety leadership by having safety talks/meetings with operators, encouraging participation in the behavior-based safety observation system to reduce injuries by identifying unsafe/at-risk behaviors. Promote a do it safely culture that does not cut corners and follows all safety procedures. Enforce all safety rules.
- Perform duties trained in during emergencies. Stay current with emergency procedures.
- Ensure all safety work permits are issues with 100% compliance to procedures.
- Ensure team members follow operating procedures to ensure product quality is consistent and meets specifications. Perform thorough investigations on quality issues.
- Ensure that long- and short-term production commitments are met.
- Understand unit capacities and bottlenecks and identify opportunities for improvements to meet business plan needs
- Ensure plans with maintenance that equipment is prepped, clean, and locked out for as required.
- Work with Maintenance on developing long range Turnaround Plans to ensure the plant stays compliant with mechanical integrity requirements and plans to maximize plant reliability. Ensure operations are occurring per the production schedules.
- Ensure all operators complete all shift reports as required and perform a thorough shift relief. Also ensure all operators are performing a thorough shift relief at their work areas.
- Develop and promote consistent communications as appropriate during off-shift hours due to any HSE, quality, and production issues that occur on shift.
- Increase process/plant reliability by measuring on-stream, identifying improvement areas, developing action plans and executing them while working with other plant resources.
- Maximize profitability through production optimization, implementing new products and capacity and by controlling costs appropriately.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years in Plant or Compressor Station Operations
- 3+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
LANGUAGE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the public.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
