Job Title: Senior General Ledger Accountant

SUMMARY
The Senior General Ledger Accountant is a sharp individual who will be a critical part of the month end close and financial reporting. As a part of the financial accounting team at Laramie, this professional will be called upon to assist with any and all tasks related to general ledger accounting, tax accounting and financial reporting. This will be a hands-on, self-motivated, highly organized, and creative professional, who can effectively collaborate with all departments within the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation
- Prepare monthly cash reconciliations
- General ledger review and maintenance, including monthly accruals and journal entry preparation
- Oil and gas properties reconciliation and roll forward preparation
- Prepare monthly hedging schedule and mark-to-market entries
- Develop, document and test internal controls
- Assist with county, state and federal tax filings
- Assist with annual financial statement audits

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong technical systems knowledge, advanced MS Excel skills, working knowledge of MS Word and ability to become familiar with firm specific software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years of public accounting firm experience
- CPA required
- Oil and gas experience preferred
- Knowledge of DocVue and BOLO is a plus
- Highly analytical, and overall ability to thoroughly understand issues and foresee all complexities
- Great communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage projects and prioritize deliverables in order to meet deadlines
- Responsible behavior, strong sense of teamwork and willingness to take on additional work, if necessary
- Takes initiative to improve efficiencies, document accounting and administrative procedures
- Works to develop, implement and maintain procedures and processes to support Company growth
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

$80,753-$103,234
